Giorgio Armani Face Fabric

Giorgio Armani Face Fabric

Giorgio Armani is famous for their foundations, their luminous silk foundation is a staple in many a makeup bag but did you know the brand has the lightweight, second skin like the foundation of your dreams? Oh, and it's been around for ten years.

I, like many a beauty junkie love a full beat. I have a vast selection of full coverage foundations in my arsenal which I wear on a regular basis. But I do often like to wear a lighter coverage foundation, something that will even out my skin tone, and give me that 'no makeup' makeup look.

I've have been on the hunt for the perfect light coverage foundation for a while, it seems the choices are next to no pigment or a BB cream which I tend to find are too greasy for my skin and break down during the day. Enter Giorgio Armani's Face Fabric, this stuff is pure magic.

The Application:

The consistency is different from other Giorgio Armani foundations and other foundations I own in general as it is a soft mousse. While it feels a little strange the foundation glides over and melts beautifully into the skin without being greasy. I used a damp beauty blender, which is how I apply all of my foundations and was able to get an even finish.

This foundation blends extremely well and I was able to build it up where I needed a little more coverage without it getting cake or settling into fine lines. I did use a concealer under my eyes and to spot conceal where I had a blemish. I found the foundation worked really well with the two concealers I used Tarte Shape Tape and Maybelline age rewind.

The Finnish:

Considering it's a mousse this foundation dries down to give you a matte, second skin like finish which you don't need to set. While it won't cover every imperfection (nor is it designed to) it does look extremely natural and is almost invisible - don't get me wrong the redness on my skin has been neutralised and any texture I have has been smoothed out but I think you'd be hard-pressed tell I was wearing anything at all which is to me the magic of this product.

Wear Time:

I've worn this foundation four times which for me is enough to garner how it will perform. Generally, in the morning I'll start putting my makeup on before I go to work at around 7:00 am and don't take it off till around 8:30-9:00 pm when I'm getting ready to relax before going to bed.

I am so impressed with the wear time of this foundation it really looks as good as it does when you put it on as it does when you take it off and I wore it on a 34°C (93°F) plus I get a really oily t-zone and this foundation held up for 13+ hours.

The Nitty Gritty:

  • This foundation comes in 12 shades, which might not seem like a massive range but as its a light coverage foundation I feel like each shade would work for several skin tones.

  • You get 40mls (1.35Fl. Oz.) which is 10 mills more than your average foundation and it comes in a squeeze tube which is perfect for travel

  • It costs $69 making it the most affordable foundation in Giorgio Armani's line.

  • This foundation is made in France and has a lifespan of 24 months once opened.

Do I recommend it?

In a word yes. This is the perfect lightweight foundation - it has more coverage than a tinted moisturiser but less than your average foundation whilst still being able to blur pores and neutralise redness. It doesn't settle into fine lines or wrinkles, plays well with other products, wears beautifully and will hold up in whatever weather is thrown at it.
