Is the infamous Brazilian Bum Bum worth it?

After seeing countless YouTubers confess their love for Sol De Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, when it launched at Mecca recently I knew I had to try it

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

There are a lot of body butters, creams and moisturisers on the market and at $66 for a 240ml tub I was expecting a lot from Sol De Janeiro’s cult Bum Bum cream. It claims that it’s caffeine-rich Guaraná extract and a cocktail of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí Oil, and Coconut Oil ingredients will not only moisturise but visibly tighten skin.

The first thing your going to clock about this cream is the scent, it’s hard to describe it’s like a mix of caramel and pistachio and one thing is for sure, it is really, really good. The consistency is really nice as well, it’s more of what I would consider a body butter but unlike body butters it absorbs really quickly and I was never left with a sticky or oily residue.

Time to cut to the chase, does it actually tighten your skin? I decided the best way to see the results would be to apply the bum bum cream to one side of my bum bum and my usual moisturiser to the other for a month then compare.

After a month I can genuinely see a difference, while both sides are equally moisturised I definitely felt like the side on the bum bum side was tighter and felt more supple. Looking in the mirror I personally though the bum bum side looked better too.

I will definitely be repurchasing the Bum Bum cream and I love it so much, I think I’ll be picking up some of the smaller sized ones for Christmas gifts. If you’re looking for a cream that will not only moisturise it does make a difference to your skins appearance which in my opinion makes it worth the high price tag.
